COLUMBUS, Ohio – Cathcart Rail announced it has partnered with the Indiana Rail Road (INRD) to handle its railcar interchange inspection and repair needs.

Cathcart Rail announced it has partnered with the Indiana Rail Road (INRD) to handle its railcar interchange inspection and repair needs. Across INRD’s major terminals, Cathcart will provide inspection and repair services in compliance with FRA and AAR standards in Indianapolis, Jasonville, IN, Palestine, IL, and Terre Haute, IN.

According to the press release, Cathcart “commenced operations in May 2023 as the sponsored repair agent for INRD with a team comprised of 15 carmen and site and regional management, with support from corporate personnel and training staff.”

President and CEO of The Indiana Rail Road, Dewayne Swindall, commented that “the team has exponentially increased railcar inspections and repairs, providing an additional layer of comfort for our customers that their goods are moved safely and efficiently. . . We always talk about operating rules and regulations, however rolling stock safety and regulatory requirements are equally important.
