Transit Integrators BC Selected for Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project

SURREY, British Columbia – The Surrey Langley SkyTrain project is moving forward with the selection of a team that will design and build the systems and trackwork.
The Province selected Transit Integrators BC, comprised of AtkinsRéalis Major Projects inc., AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc., and Western Pacific Enterprises Ltd, to enter contract negotiations. The project is a 16-kilometer extension of the Expo Line that goes from King George Station to Langley City Centre. According to BC Gov News, Western Pacific Enterprises Ltd. Is based in Surrey and has “contributed to previous SkyTrain projects, including the original Expo Line, Millennium Line, Canada Line, and the Evergreen extension.”
Currently, guideway and station component work are underway along the new route. Crews will relocate power lines and begin preparations for major construction that will begin later this year. Once the project is complete, those who reside in Surrey will have access to low-cost transportation and can travel between Langley City and Surrey Centre in 22 minutes.
BC Gov News reports the project is delivered through three separate contracts. In April, the Province selected South Fraser Station Partners to design and build eight stations. This also includes cycling and walking paths around said stations. In March 2024, the Province selected SkyLink Guideway Partners will design, build, and finance the elevated guideway and associated roadworks. Each request for proposal was issued in early 2023 with formal contract announcements expected in the coming months.
