Hugh Fuller has joined HNTB Corporation as the Northwest railway practice manager and brings more than 30 years of experience in the transportation and railway engineering fields. He has managed or designed more than a dozen light rail, streetcar and commuter rail projects, making him one of the leading railway engineers in the United States.
In his new role
at HNTB, Fuller will be responsible for railway projects in Portland, Ore.,
Seattle and Western Canada. "As the Northwest railway practice leader for HNTB,
I hope to enhance service to transit and railroad clients as well as enhance
HNTB’s reputation as a premier railway design firm," said Fuller.
HNTB, Fuller served as a chief engineer in CH2M HILL’s transportation business
group in Seattle. As an engineering manager, Fuller has been responsible for
planning and engineering projects, including coordination with clients and
third parties, ensuring timely completion of tasks, coordinating subconsultants
and supervising and training in-house staff.
recently developed a conceptual design for embedded track on the Delmar Bridge
as part of the Loop Trolley streetcar project in St. Louis. He supervised the
preparation of several alternative track alignments for the 1.5-mile system.
on the board of directors for the Women’s Transportation Seminar’s Puget Sound
Chapter. He also is a member of several professional organizations, including
the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, the
Transportation Research Board and the American Public Transit Association.
