SEATTLE – This week, Sound Transit experiences a signal issue while crews work to repair a sinking track near Stadium Station.

Last week, RT&S reported on a sinking track repair on Sound Transit’s light rail near Stadium Station in Seattle. Service is already operating at a reduced capacity due to this track maintenance, with trains running every 20 minutes.

On Wednesday morning, service was delayed further due to a signal issue. With riders waiting an additional ten minutes, John Gallagher, spokesperson for Sound Transit, has said that “the cause of the signal issue has not been determined, and the signal issue has not yet been resolved.”

Seattle Times is reporting that through this Sunday, “trains will share one track at Westlake, University Street, International District/Chinatown and Stadium stations.” Travelers who go through Pioneer Square will now need to transfer to the opposite platform.
