DENVER – The RTD removed all of the northbound speed restrictions in the Southeast Light Rail Corridor between its County Line and Lincoln stations.
In addition to these, the RTD was able to reduce southbound speed restrictions near Lincoln Station on the E and R lines. Most of the restrictions were put into place in June of this year. According to the report, the removal of speed restrictions came as the result of preventive maintenance and track repairs that took place at night.
In May 2024, the agency began inspections of its light rail system to assess and identify potential issues and areas in need of maintenance. Once these issues were identified, speed restrictions were put into place to allow for repair work to take place.
