Sound Transit to close roads for Federal Way Link construction

Sound Transit announced this weekend that work on its Federal Way Link Extension in Kent, Wash. will require the closure of portions of 30th Avenue South and State Route 516.

Crews working on the Federal Way Link Extension will fully close a portion of 30th Avenue South, south of State Route 516 in Kent beginning Monday, Dec. 13 to Dec. 24. This closure will be in effect 24 hours a day/seven days a week.

State Route 516 in Kent will also be closed from State Route 99 to the Interstate 5 on and off-ramps Thursday, Dec. 16 and then again Dec. 20 through 23 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Both closures are necessary to set bridge girders for the light rail guideway.

Detour routes will be in place via South 272nd Street and South 200th Street.
