PORTLAND, Ore. - TriMet will begin a major renovation project on its NE 82nd Ave MAX station starting in June.
On June 8th and 9th, service on the MAX Blue, Green, and Red lines will be disrupted while crews install a temporary platform. Additionally, the NE 82nd Ave MAX Station will be modernized over the course of those two days. A stairway will be installed on the southbound side of the station, and the elevator will remain operable during the project. According to TriMet, a pathway on the platform level will connect the elevator to the temporary platform.

Beginning June 10th, there will be no access to the station as crews will make renovations that last throughout the rest of the year as part of its efforts to invest in the MAX system to make it safer and more comfortable. Some of the renovations taking place at the station include rebuilding the stairway, re-roofing and refurbishing the shelter, adding a second shelter to the east side, removing the lift building that is no longer operational, and replacing the existing bollard and cable barrier on the edge of the platform. Crews will also make improvements to lighting and signage.
The NE 82nd Ave MAX Improvement Project is part of a larger modernization effort that includes the addition of the Type 6 trains that began service earlier this year.
