PORTLAND, Ore. - TriMet crews will work on a 100-foot section of its MAX system from November 16th to 17th.

According to TriMet, this work requires a disruption between the Galleria/SW 10th Ave and Providence Park stations. Crews will utilize the disruption to remove a rail switch that allows trains to move from one track to another. Originally, it was part of the Downtown endpoint of the MAX Blue Line until 1997. Then, in 1998, the MAX Blue Line’s Westside Extension was completed and stretched over 30 miles between Gresham and Hillsboro.

Information about shuttle buses and alternate routes for passengers can be found at the link here. Regular service for the MAX Blue and Red lines will resume on Monday, November 18th.

It sits between Southwest Morrison and Yamhill streets at 11th Avenue. TriMet says with the improvements, it is “ensuring that MAX trains remain a consistent and reliable means of transportation for years to come. With roughly 60 miles of track connecting 97 stations spread across three counties, MAX is the third largest light rail system in the Western United States – and the second oldest.”
