By a virtual vote on Sunday, most Democrats in the House of Representatives signaled they would support a revised economic bill.

However, two key senators have not given any sign they are on board.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) have been critical of the Build Back Better measure and both have stated they would not vote for it unless changes were made. House Democrats believe the right revisions are there (the bill has gone from $3.5 trillion to $1.75 trillion) and are hoping to pass it and the infrastructure bill later this week. The Senate then needs to approve the economic package before both chambers could work towards passing and sending a final infrastructure bill to the White House.

Both the House and Senate will need the support of all Democrats to get the economic bill approved. The infrastructure bill should have more bipartisan support, but the House issued the warning early in the process that the infrastructure bill would not be considered if it was not tied to Build Back Better.

Once the economic bill is passed it will be sent to the House Rules Committee for approval before a final vote happens.
