TORONTO – Metrolinx’s Davenport Diamond Guideway project continues after the initial demolition of the Bloor Street West bridge in May.

Earlier this year in Toronto, part of Bloor Street West bridge was demolished as part of the Davenport Diamond Guideway project. It “will be rebuilt to support service increases on the Barrie Line. GO Trains continued to run on the west mainline track during construction.”

As part of the GO Expansion, Metrolinx “will be bringing more frequent rail service. . . between Union Station and Bradford GO and every 30 minutes up to Barrie.” The work itself was completed sooner than expected.

The Davenport Diamond Guideway project will continue and includes “rebuilding the abutments and installing the new bridge span,” and it will bring two-way, all-day GO service to Barrie.

Information specific to the Barrie Line GO Expansion can be found here.
