RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Four stations on the Perris Valley Line will close for two days to allow for the Moreno Valley/March Field Station Improvements Project.

Metrolink will suspend service along the Perris Valley Line to allow for construction work. According to Patch, there will be no trains “available to retrieve or drop passengers off at four stations between Riverside and Perris.” Metrolink announced the two-day closure on Twitter.

The Riverside County Transportation Commission put out a statement citing the Moreno Valley/March Field Station Improvements Project as the reason for the two-day service suspension. The four stations that will be closed this weekend are Riverside’s Hunter Park, Moreno Valley’s March Field, the South Perris station and the downtown Perris station. Metrolink will provide alternate modes of transportation for riders on this line.

The work taking place will include improving a pedestrian crossing, upgrading drainage channels, and improving the March Field train platform. The platform will be extended to allow riders the ability to enter all cars in six-car trains, and crews will build another train platform as well as perform track work along 2.5 miles to enable a double-track corridor in the future. The project began last October and costs around $33 million in total.
