Patriot adds Shoener to board of directors

Patriot Rail Corp., operator of shortline and regional freight railroads, appointed Arthur Shoener to the board of directors of the company. In this role, Shoener will provide executive support and oversight in company proceedings.

A fourth generation railroader, Shoener began his rail career while in college with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, joining the Missouri Pacific Railroad after graduation. During his 45-year rail career, Shoener has served in various senior level leadership roles, including as president and CEO of Kansas City Southern. He also served as president and chief operating officer of Kansas City Southern and was a member of the Kansas City Southern Board of Directors.

Today Shoener leads his own international consulting practice where he continues to work closely with several railroad companies. He has also served as chairman and/or director of the Port Terminal Railroad, Belt Railway of Chicago, Houston Belt and Terminal Railway, Alton and Southern Railroad and Terminal Railroad Association.
