Pamela Sarne McCormick, a public policy and government relations professional who has long served as the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce's Harrisburg representative, will join Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) as director of legislative affairs, effective December 29, 2014.

McCormick has been an active voice in the Philadelphia region and the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for more than two decades. She has a successful track record of building relationships, partnerships and programs across the public, private and civic sectors.

“SEPTA is thrilled to have Ms. McCormick join our team,” said SEPTA Board Chairman Pasquale Deon, Sr. “Her skills and experience will be valuable assets as we continue to generate support for efforts to rebuild and strengthen the region’s transportation network.”

Throughout her years at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, McCormick has worked with business, political, labor and community leaders to advance many of the region’s public policy issues and economic development projects. She contributed to many successful efforts to enhance the region’s business climate and quality of life, including initiatives to promote competitive taxation, adequately fund higher education and K-12 schools, construct and expand the Pennsylvania Convention Center and win approval of Act 89 to ensure transportation improvement funding statewide.

“Pam worked hard every day to promote free enterprise and economic growth in our region and the commonwealth,” said Rob Wondering, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. “She has been a tireless advocate for the chamber in Harrisburg and we look forward to continuing to work together with SEPTA on key infrastructure issues ensuring a safe, reliable and modern transportation network.”
