OneRail Coalition hosts “The American Rail Industry: Investing in Infrastructure, Creating Jobs”

On Thursday May 10, 2012, the OneRail Coalition will host a briefing on "The American Rail Industry: Investing in Infrastructure, Creating Jobs" at 2:00pm in the Capitol Visitor Center, Meeting Room North (CVC 268).

The briefing is designed to inform Congressional staff about the impact the freight and passenger rail industries have on the economy and job creation. The briefing will include information on how Class 1 freight railroads, shortline freight railroads, intercity passenger rail operators, commuter railroads and rail industry suppliers are investing in critical rail transportation infrastructure, leading to the creation of thousands of good American jobs.

Anne Canby, director of OneRail Coalition, will moderate the briefing and panelists include Gerald Hanas, general manager, Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District and Chairman, American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Commuter Rail Committee; Richard Timmons, president, American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA); Joe McHugh, vice president, government affairs and corporate communications, Amtrak; John Gray, senior vice president, policy and economics, Association of American Railroads (AAR); Don Itzkoff, executive counsel, public policy and government relations, GE Transportation and Greg Lippard, vice president, L.B. Foster Co.
