SEYMOUR, Conn. – After damage sustained from storms, Metro-North worked to restore full scheduled service on the Danbury Branch.
Rainfall caused a mudslide between Seymour and Ansonia stations along the Waterbury Branch. As a result, limited bus service operated to serve passengers affected by the service suspension. Metro-North reports that the Harlem, Hudson, and New Haven lines are running normally.
Crews were working on Monday, August 19th to restore service on the Danbury Branch in time for the 5:07 p.m. train from Grand Central to Danbury.

Metro-North Railroad President Catherine Rinaldi said, “We’re glad to have made great progress to restore service on the Danbury Branch in time for today’s afternoon rush hour. . . We appreciate the patience of our Waterbury Branch customers as crews work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service on the branch, where there is more significant damage caused by yesterday’s catastrophic rain.”
