ACEC Florida Awards HNTB With Grand Award

LAKE MARY, Fla. - HNTB was recognized by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida with a Grand Award for its work on the Brightline Florida East-West Connector project.

According to the release, HNTB provided the final design and program management for the project. Between Miami and Orlando, the project’s design and construction included “32 new bridges, comprehensive grading and drainage systems, advanced communications and signal layouts, and extensive utility relocations.”

ACEC Florida recognized five projects as Grand Award Winners. The Grand and Honor Awards will be presented during a banquet in Orlando on February 7, 2025.

HNTB’s East Florida Office Leader and Senior Vice President George Gilhooley shared that HNTB is “incredibly honored to have partnered with Brightline Florida on the East-West Connector project. . . This recognition from ACEC Florida is a testament to the innovative spirit and dedication of our teams. Brightline’s vision for a connected Florida has truly come to life, and we are grateful to be apart of this transformative journey.”

HNTB’s Project Director for the East-West Connector John Hornbeck said, “The East-West Connector project has been a remarkable journey of engineering excellence and innovation. . . This project enhances connectivity across Florida and sets a new standard for sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. We are proud of the positive impact it will have on the communities we serve.”
