KINGS COUNTY, Calif. - CHSRA has completed the Fargo Avenue overcrossing in Kings County.
It will relocate traffic over the future high-speed rail lines. Located east of SR43 and the city of Hanford, Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture constructed the overcrossing. It measure 205 feet long and more than 40 feet wide. It is comprised of 15 pre-cast California Wide Flange girders and 1,086 cubic yards of concrete. Additionally, it was constructed with more than 220,000 pounds of steel.

Authority Central Valley Regional Director Garth Fernandez said, “Opening Fargo Avenue to the community is another example of continuous progress within this program. Every day, we are closer to achieving high-speed rail passenger service on electric trains traveling up to 220 mph across the Central Valley.”
Last month, RT&S reported the Authority had begun the railhead project in Kern County. Construction of the railroad is “a major step in the track and systems process and signifies the next phase of the high-speed rail program,” which includes temporary freight tracks to transport materials needed for the high-speed rail tracks.
