DALLAS - DART will hold a celebration to mark the arrival of the Silver Line on October 25.

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., DART encourages riders to celebrate the opening of the Silver Line at any of the stations’ stops along the line. According to DART, its Silver Line is 26 miles of regional rail service that cuts through Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson, and Plano before stopping at DFW Airport. The line shares the rail corridor with freight. All of its vehicles are FRA compliant, and DART says overhead catenary cannot be used on this line as “it is incompatible with freight clearances.” The project included the Cotton Belt Regional Hike & Bike Trail adjacent to the line.

Additionally, DART and Archer Western Herzog (AWH), the design-build contractor, shared weekly construction updates, which can be found on DART’s website. A full rail system map, including the new Silver Line, is below.
