BURLINGAME, Calif. - California High-Speed rail Authority hosted the Small Business Diversity and Resources Fair with more than 300 small businesses.

According to CHSRA, these businesses, along with 40 exhibitors, came from across California to meet at the Burlingame Community Center. The purpose of the Small Business Diversity and Resources Fair is to facilitate networking and participating in a workshop “on the state procurement process.” Below is a gallery of images, courtesy of CHSRA, of the event.

Along with the expo, 18 Authority prime contractors participated in “business matchmaking,” and the Authority’s contracting office held a procurement workshop. CHSRA says that 953 certified small businesses have participated in the project thus far. Currently, it has a goal of 25% small business participation and 3% for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises.

Authority’s Small Business Development and Compliance Chief Catrina Blair said, “Small business participation is vital for the California high-speed rail project. Every year, more small businesses join the program, which is a testament to the Authority’s commitment to advancing economic equity in State contracts. This event opens the door for many entrepreneurs to do business with the state and access valuable resources.”
