POLB Names Cesar Larios as Construction Management Director

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Port of Long Beach names Port engineer Cesar Larios to lead the Harbor Department's Construction Management Division.

According to the Port of Long Beach, the division is part of its Engineering Services Bureau, and it oversees project construction. Cesar Larios first joined in August 2006 as a Construction Manager before becoming Deputy Chief Harbor Engineer in 2012. In 2021, he was named Manager of Engineering. Prior to his work at Port of Long Beach, Larios worked at Taylor Bros. Inc. for eight years.

During his tenure at Port of Long Beach, he led the construction phase of the Middle Harbor Terminal Redevelopment Program, a $1.5 billion project also known as the Long Beach Container Terminal. According to POLB, Larios was responsible for managing and overseeing more than $900 million in construction contracts and more than $100 million in construction management services contracts.

Along with an MBA from California State University, Long Beach, Larios holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Southern California. He is also a board-certified professional engineer in California and a certified construction manager with the Construction Management Association of America, says POLB.
