PRINCE, W.Va. - Work is currently underway at Amtrak's Prince, WV Station (PRC) in West Virginia.

As part of Amtrak’s larger ADA Stations Program, the station will receive accessibility improvements, including platform work. The project’s investment total is $4.5 million and includes a platform replacement, new lighting, guardrails, updated signage, detectable warning surfaces, and an ADA parking lot with a path connecting to the platform. Construction is scheduled to finish summer 2027.

The Prince Depot, located along the New River, opened in 1946. As such, the project was specifically designed to preserve the historic character while simultaneously bringing modern accessibility features, says Amtrak. Improvements made at the station will “maintain key historic elements through in-kind replacement of platform components” and historically compatible fixture installations.
