On Monday, CSX released a service bulletin to state it is “monitoring the path of Hurricane Lee, which could bring severe weather to the East Coast later this week.” At the time of the bulletin, Hurricane Lee was a category 3, and the path of the storm was uncertain. Therefore, the National Hurricane Center “was unable to predict what impacts, if any, the storm may have on the eastern U.S.”

Ahead of the storm, CSX says it is “prepared to implement storm plans if necessary, and further advisories will be issued as needed.” The Class I urges its customers to monitor its “Customer Advisories and the Intermodal-specific Real-Time Service Advisories for information on potential impacts.”

“The CSX Customer Solutions team is available to provide details and answer questions regarding shipments. Call the Customer Solutions team at 1-877-ShipCSX (1-877-744-7279).
