NASHVILLE - CSX is temporarily rerouting operations on its SN&A North Subdivision due to a bridge outage.

According to CSX, the rerouting decision was made to ensure the safety of operations after it identified “critical structural issues” during an inspection. As of reporting, crews are working to address the issue, but the Class I says it does not have an estimated time for service to resume. The bridge is located on its SN&A North Subdivision, running from Nashville, Tennessee to Birmingham, Alabama.

CSX encourages its customers to continue monitoring for news updates regarding the bridge. RT&S will continue to report as updates are made available.

Update 10/10:

On October 9, CSX issued a customer service advisory that service between Nashville, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama on the SN&A Subdivision is expected to resume at 4:00 p.m. EST. Despite this, the Class I says there may still be delays in the area until operations fully return to normal.
