CUMBERLAND, Md. - Severe weather on Tuesday, May 13th led to shipment delays for CSX across Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

CSX released a Customer Advisory indicating shipments for its customers would be affected due to severe weather that occurred this week. Flooding from North Carolina to New York has led to delays in the following Subdivisions:

  1. Cumberland Subdivision: Stuart Tunnel, located east of Cumberland, Maryland, has closed both tracks. This impacts service between Cumberland to the Baltimore/Brunswick area.
  2. Mountain Subdivision: Landslides occurred between Grafton, Maryland and Keyser, West Virginia. This has also disrupted service between Cumberland and Grafton.
  3. Keystone Subdivision: Both tracks located 7 miles from Cumberland have been affected by a 200-foot washout. This impacts service from Cumberland to Connellsville, Pennsylvania.

As of reporting, CSX says it is working to address the issue and resume normal operations.
