CICERO, Ill. – At its Cicero facility, BNSF expanded track 803 to include an additional 4,200 feet a month ahead of schedule.
In a LinkedIn post, BNSF detailed its “reconstruction and expansion of track 803” in the city southwest of Chicago. The expansion included 4,200 feet of track. According to the post, it was completed “nearly a month ahead of schedule.” BNSF thanked the efforts of its construction gang, civil contractor, and Transportation department, and Chicago Division leadership in seeing this project completed at their Cicero facility.
BNSF holds 27 intermodal facilities with 33,000 intermodal lifts in Cicero that help “move freight safely, sustainably, and efficiently.”
