Track Worker on Union Pacific Killed While Making Repairs

MCNEIL, Ark. –– Television station KSLA in Shreveport, La. reported that a Union Pacific track worker was killed after being struck by machinery.

Union Pacific track worker Danny Brent Wilkins of Rison, Ark., was killed on April 11 after being struck by machinery on the railroad while making repairs to the tracks. This area has been inundated with rainfall this week and work crews were repairing a washout when the accident occurred. Wilkins was 42.

McNeil is about 25 miles north of the Louisiana border and 50 miles east of Texarkana.

In a statement to KSLA-TV via email, Union Pacific said “This is a sad day for Union Pacific; our deepest sympathies are with the employee’s family and coworkers.”
