Thomas Jensen Named President of the Railway Supply Institute

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The Railway Supply Institute announced this week that it has chosen Thomas Jensen as its new president.
Jensen will lead the organization’s regulatory, legislative, and advocacy efforts on behalf of the railway supply industry.
Jensen has worked in government affairs for over 30 years, focusing on public policy and transportation advocacy in both the private and public sectors. He has built strong coalitions, guided organizations through evolving policy environments, and has successfully shaped legislative and regulatory outcomes.
Jensen is coming off of a stint leading government relations activities that supported the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission, along with engaging the bipartisan Congressional America250 Caucus, which is the largest congressional caucus in history. Before that, he led government affairs for Amrize, a building and construction materials manufacturing firm. He also served as Vice
President of Government Affaris for autonomous trucking technology company TuSimple.
RSI also says that, “Jensen spent more than three decades with United Parcel Service (UPS), culminating in his role as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. At UPS, he directed advocacy strategies on critical transportation and infrastructure issues and represented the company before Congress, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the White House. His portfolio included multimodal transportation policy, infrastructure investment, commercial vehicle regulation, supply chain policy, environmental sustainability, and emerging transportation technologies.”

RSI goes on to say that, “Jensen has demonstrated extensive association leadership through service as Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Transportation, Infrastructure & Logistics Committee and the American Highway Users Alliance, as well as board and executive committee roles with leading national transportation, logistics, autonomous vehicle, and manufacturing associations.”
“Jensen holds a Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law, a Master of Public Administration from American University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the College of William and Mary. He is a member of the Connecticut and Pennsylvania state bars.”
