FRESNO, Calif. - The California High-Speed Rail Authority announced it has created over 14,000 construction jobs through continued progress on a high-speed rail system.

California High-Speed Rail Authority CEO Ian Choudri said, “The progress made on this historic project is thanks to the skilled men and women dispatched to high-speed rail construction sites every day. There is no question that transportation projects like this one create good-paying jobs, and I’m proud to continue building upon the work already done to advance construction in the Central Valley and the rest of California.”

Tutor-Perini/Zachry/Parsons, Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture, and California Rail Builders are the three design-build contracts working on the high-speed rail project.

Fresno, Madera, Kings and Tulare Counties Building and Construction Trades Council’s Chuck Riojas said, “We are excited to continue the relationship between the Building Trades and the Authority’s new CEO Ian Choudri. . . High-speed rail is helping put people to work across the Valley, and that number and need of a skilled labor force will continue to grow.”
