Active Construction on New Hudson Tunnel Project Supporting Domestic Jobs and Economic Output

NEW YORK –– The Gateway Development Commission released a study this week that shows construction of the New Hudson Tunnel is supporting significant domestic jobs and economic output. The analysis shows that 94% of $2.2 billion in capital spending for the project to stay within the United States.

The scope of the study focused on the first five contracts for active construction on the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). The report says that the capital spend on these five projects, $2.2 billion, will support 20,200 “direct, indirect, and induced full-time equivalent (FTE) workers while generating $4.5 billion in economic output and $1.7 billion in labor income.”
