WILMINGTON, Mass. - The MBTA will open its North Wilmington Station on June 30th on the Haverhill Commuter Rail Line.

According to the MBTA, a new station on the line opens June 30th, and it will be fully accessible with passengers able to ride inbound and outbound. In the spring of this year, crews demolished the previous North Wilmington Station at 370 Middlesex Avenue. They worked to open an upgraded facility with accessible ramps, a covered canopy, and a new station access point along Middlesex Avenue. Additionally, the station has better communication systems and security systems. These allow for better service announcements and camera technology.

“The opening of the new North Wilmington Station demonstrates our commitment to building a rider-focused accessible transit system that allows all who need to and wish to use mass transportation, the opportunity to do so,” said MBTA General Manager and CEO Phillip Eng. “With modern amenities, accessibility, and enhanced safety features, this station will not only better serve the Wilmington community, and all that wish to visit Wilmington, but all Commuter Rail riders on the Haverhill Line with improved and quicker boarding at the new station.”
