TORONTO - Metrolinx has finished accessibility upgrades at Eglinton GO Station.
As part of a two-phase project, Metrolinx was implementing upgrades at the Eglinton GO Station. These upgrades include landscaping, rehabilitating rail-side platforms with tactile-edges, upgrading the CCTV/lighting/public address systems, improving signage, and adding platform canopies, pedestrian tunnels, and mini platforms that allow for level boarding and exiting.
The project, according to Metrolinx, also prepares the station to support increased service two-ways in the future. As of reporting, there are 251,000 customer boardings at Eglinton GO Station annually. That number is expected to rise to 1.6 million by 2041.
