BURNABY, BC - TransLink has completed upgrades to the Brentwood Town Centre SkyTrain Station.

Beginning March 24, 2025, the station will be ready for customers. According to the press release, the station received upgrades that improve accessibility, capacity, and integration with the mall and surrounding bus service. The upgrades include two new escalators, a street-level elevator, three new fare gates, two upgraded stairwells, lighting, and an expanded mezzanine. Additionally, TransLink states that the station also has “new permanent way finding to direct customers, including additional maps and transit information panels.”

In total, the investment for the project is $32 million and is part of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, or ICIP. Funds came from both the Government of Canada and TransLink. The station is the first on the Millennium Line that has received upgrades since 2002. It is one of the busiest stations on the line, serving an estimated 23,000 residents. The surrounding area has been “transitioning into a densified, mixed-use neighborhood with increased transit needs.”

TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn said, “Completion of the Brentwood Town Centre Station upgrades mark a major milestone in enhancing accessibility, safety, and comfort for our customers. These improvements will ensure we continue providing efficient and reliable transit services as the Brentwood community grows. We’re proud to deliver this project, in partnership with the Government of Canada, to meet the needs of transit users for years to come.”
