WMATA Releases Shuttle Plan for December Construction Work

WASHINGTON, D.C. - WMATA has released plans for its Blue, Orange, and Silver lines construction work this December.
According to the Metro, construction will be in two phases: December 20-26 and December 27-30. From December 20th to the 26th, Farragut West, McPherson Square, and the lower level (Blue, Orange, Silver service) at Metro Center will be closed to allow for construction. Crews will replace grout pads, fasteners, and studs as well as weld open joints and upgrade the platform edge lighting. Information about shuttle service for affected passengers can be found here.


From December 27th to the 30th, Farragut West, McPherson Square, lower level (Blue, Orange, and Silver service) at Metro Center, Federal Triangle, Smithsonian, and the lower level of L’Enfant Plaza (Blue, Orange, and Silver service) will be closed.
