New Jersey governor slashes light rail service
Written by RT&S StaffIn a bold move, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy laid down a series of orders for the transit sector on April 11 in response to COVID-19.
Murphy wants public transportation agencies to cut service capacity by 50 percent of their maximum, effective on Monday, April 13.
Passengers must wear face coverings, and transit agencies must supply their workers with gloves and facemasks.
Just over 2,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the state of New Jersey. Total cases stand at just over 58,000.
