JUSTIN, Texas - BNSF has rebuilt an 85-year-old wooden trestle bridge north of Justin, Texas.

According to BNSF, crews have demolished and rebuilt the original wooden bridge that dated back to the 1940s. Now, the structure measures 600 feet and is constructed of steel and concrete. More than 40 crew members were able to demolish and rebuild the structure in only 28 hours.

However, planning and coordination took place over the course of a few months, but BNSF says “everything came together in a tightly choreographed operation” and without injury. During this time, crews had to deal with flooding occurring underneath the bridge which caused them to “lose a week here and a week there.” The Class I released a timelapse video (below) of the reconstruction.
