FRESNO, Calif. - The California High-Speed Rail Authority has released a video detailing its progress throughout Spring 2025.

According to the release, the video update highlights the progress made on “the nation’s first 220 mph high-speed rail system currently taking shape in the Central Valley.” The video features the work done on the railhead project. The project includes a new facility where equipment and materials for laying track will be housed located in Kern County. This equipment will be housed here until it is needed on BNSF freight rail lines.

Additionally, the video shows work done on the Hanford Viaduct, the largest construction site. Here, “112 girders were placed over the San Joaquin Valley Railroad.” Crews have also started work on the State Route 43 Tied Arch Bridge where they “have erected falsework to begin construction on the structure’s signature arches.” Progress on the Avenue 17 and Road 26 grade separations in Madera County and the Cesar Chavez Boulevard Underpass and Tulare Street Underpass in Fresno are included in the video.

CHSRA states that crews have finished more than 60 miles of guideway and 54 structures. 30 structures are currently under construction across four counties. Additionally, since construction started, the CHSRA says that it has created more than 15,000 jobs as a result, with 97% of those filled by Californians, “and 70% going to residents of the Central Valley.”
