Goldman named president of Louisville & Indiana Railroad, succeeding Stolzman

John Goldman, vice president of the Louisville & Indiana Railroad (L&I) has been promoted to president, effective July 11, succeeding Mike Stolzman, who is joining Colo Railroad Builders in Houston, Texas.

 

Goldman has 19 years of rail experience and joined the L&I in November 2012 from Canadian National, where he had been superintendent of the Iowa and Valley Zones since 2011.

Goldman comes from a railroad family and began his railroad career as a switchman in 1995 with Norfolk Southern in Louisville, Ky. After holding a variety of operating posts with NS, he joined CN in 2004 advancing to assistant superintendent in Flat Rock, Mich., senior manager of CN’s Regional Operations Center at Homewood, Ill., and assistant to the Southern Region senior vice president in 2009.

Peter Gilbertson, chairman of Anacostia Rail Holdings, Louisville & Indiana’s parent company, said, “While we are going to miss Mike and are very grateful for his significant contributions as the senior executive at Pacific Harbor Line, Gulf Coast Switching and the L&I, we are pleased and fortunate to have John ready to take over as president. He is very capable and prepared to continue L&I’s progress meeting the transportation needs of our customers today and in the years ahead.”
