February 14, 2001 Aconex, a provider of project collaboration solutions for the construction, infrastructure, energy and resources industries, has been selected by the Regional Transportation District Denver to provide its online collaboration solution to RTD's $6-billion dollar FasTracks transit expansion program. Aconex will be used to facilitate the information and records management needs for design, construction, testing and start-up of the public infrastructure project.

Aconex will provide RTD and
its project partners with a single, web-based point of contact, communication
and collaboration for records management for the FasTracks project, allowing
stakeholders to access information from any location at any time in a secure,
real-time environment. The Aconex platform offers quick implementation and will
minimize RTD’s in-house resource requirements for implementation, maintenance,
training and end-user support. Aconex also supports internal and external
auditing of record systems, as well as Freedom of Information Act requirements,
while offering robust business continuity, disaster recovery, risk mitigation
and litigation avoidance, all of which are critical for public agencies.

FasTracks is RTD’s
voter-approved transit program to expand rail and bus service throughout the
RTD service area. FasTracks will build 122 miles of commuter and light rail and
18 miles of bus rapid transit service, add 21,000 new parking spaces, redevelop
Denver Union Station and redirect bus service to better connect the
eight-county District. The FasTracks investment initiative is projected to
create more than 10,000 construction-related jobs during the height of
construction, and will pump billions of dollars into the regional economy.

"The Aconex online
collaboration platform eliminates the tremendous inefficiencies that have
always sat at the heart of large-scale construction projects," said Dexter
Bachelder, vice president, Aconex. "With Aconex, agencies like RTD Denver can
build out new public infrastructure in the most efficient, transparent way
possible, saving taxpayer dollars while shortening total construction time."
