According to CN spokesman Patrick Waldron, signs will go up in advance, informing drivers that traffic will be detoured around the crossing.
Canadian National purchased the EJ&E line in January for $300 million. The railroad has pledged more than $160 million for infrastructure improvements and traffic mitigation along that line.
These repairs follow the four-day resurfacing of the Ogden Avenue crossing in July. That crossing, one of the most widely used in Aurora, was shut down from July 18 to 21. Waldron said that work was regular maintenance, and not part of the federally mandated improvements to the crossing.
