JARALES, N.M. - BNSF worked with the New Mexico Department of Transportation to eliminate a crossing in Jarales, New Mexico.
According to the Class I on social media, the corridor in which the crossing was located carried more than 1,700 vehicles daily over three sets of tracks. Close to 90 trains crossed daily. The NM J09 Jarales Road Grade Separation Project included building a new bridge over said railroad tracks and realigning more than half a mile of the state highway, says the Class I.

The designer for the project was Wilson & Company, a recent winner of the 2026 New Mexico American Council of Engineering Companies Transportation Project of the Year. Now that the project is completed, the overpass has increased both mobility and safety.
