JACKSONVILLE–CSX is delivering more fluid operations in Georgia thanks to a new line the railroad recently installed to enhance operations.
Originally planned to take place over several months, construction of CSX’s new Nahunta, Ga., connector needed to be completed in just a few weeks because of a permit delay. Opening the connector on time was important for improving fluidity between Waycross and Jesup and enabling crews to finish their runs faster and spend more time at home. Teamwork involving many departments was necessary to get the job done safely and efficiently.
Here is a video describing the Nahunta Connector and the work required to complete it on time. The video runs about 2 1/2 minutes.
