PUCO Approves Rail Crossing Upgrade in Hamilton County

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) approved safety upgrades at a rail crossing in Hamilton County.
According to the release, the Highland Avenue grade crossing in Norwood, Hamilton County will receive flashing lights and gates as well as a new surface. Indiana & Ohio Railway will install these upgrades. $305,864 in federal funds will go toward completing the project.
The State Grade Crossing Safety Fund provides up to $5,000 per project for safety improvements during the project. These include rumble strips, improved signage, or illumination.
