Metrolink begins PTC testing on San Bernardino line


On Nov. 16, Metrolink started Positive Train Control (PTC) testing on its San Bernardino Line, which covers the cities of El Monte, Baldwin Park, Covina, San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona, Claremont, Montclair, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Rialto and San Bernardino.

Testing will be done Monday through Friday between the hours of 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., however, there may be some additional testing during daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Balfour Beatty, R.J. Corman host congressional representatives

Elected officials from Florida and Ohio were given tours this week of rail companies operating within their respective states. The events also included public policy discussions surrounding the recent positive train control deadline extension, as well as efforts to extend the shortline tax credit.

Greenfield rail line improvements underway

The Greenfield Rail Line Improvement Project commenced in June 2015 with the contractor, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, working to improve the bridges, crossings, rail and signals along 29.5 miles of railroad from Greenfield to Midland, Ohio.
