In a press release, the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission, or SJRRC, announced an Industry Day. The Industry Day is “for potential bidders of its $1.2 billion construction companies to network and prepare to bid on the 17 projects that make up Phase 1 of the Valley Rail Program.”
Industry Day will take place next week on Thursday, September 14th in Stockton California at the Stockton Worknet Center. Those who attend can expect a “comprehensive overview of the program of projects, instruction and training on the procurement process, and a Q&A session with agency staff, providing direct insights and clarifications.” The release also mentions that part of the event will be “dedicated to fostering networking opportunities between potential prime contractors, subcontractors, and small businesses.” The link to reserve a spot can be found here.
Phase 1 of the Valley Rail Program has projects that span many different locations “including Midtown Sacramento, Lodi, Manteca, Modesto, Natomas, Lathrop, Ripon, Fremont, Stockton, Elk Grove, Ceres, and Madera.” The program covers improvements of “ACE and Amtrak San Joaquins.” The Executive Director of SJRRC, Stacey Mortensen, said in the press release that “Industry Day is not just about bringing our transformative Valley Rail projects to the construction phase, but about creating a forum for local small businesses and sub-contractors to network with likely bidding prime contractors, furthering SJRRC’s commitment to our corridor communities.”
