ATLANTA - The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will stop service to Indian Creek Station to allow for a pedestrian bridge installation from December 8-9, 2024.

The bridge will go over the tracks and make Kensington Station the temporary end of the Blue Line. According to MARTA, the bridge will improve access for cyclists and pedestrians located on the north side of the station as it will connect to a planned trail network.

The project comes as part of a larger rehabilitation initiative, the Indian Creek Station Rehabilitation Project. The passenger agency says that the project is “designed to improve safety, accessibility, and overall customer experience.” During the temporary service suspension, crews will also use the time to perform heavy cleaning, install new flooring, and make other renovations to the western plaza.
