ATLANTA - Brookhaven rail station reopened on November 16th after a six-week construction project.
From October 7th to November 15th, crews worked on replacing aging pavers on the train platform as part of a larger rehabilitation project at Brookhaven Station. By utilizing the six-week closure, the construction timeline was reduced by almost two years and saved a cost of up to $9 million. The entire project will cost $13 million through FY2027 as part of MARTA’s $1 billion Station Rehabilitation Program. The program aims to improve safety at all 38 rail stations.

In addition to replacing these pavers, crews worked to demolish the existing flooring to install new tile and tactile warning strips along platform edges. New expansion joint benches were installed. The concrete was pressure washed, sealed, and a graffiti-resistant coating was applied.
At Brookhaven, MARTA states there will be concourse rehabilitation, canopy and wall repairs, sign upgrades, and SMART restroom installation. These SMART restrooms use technology to ensure a clean space. This comes in addition to previous work that took place to improve ADA access improvements and parking lot repaving.
