MTA’s Re-NEW-Vation Continues With Myrtle-Wyckoff Station Improvements

NEW YORK CITY – MTA continues its Re-NEW-vation program with improvements made to its Myrtle-Wyckoff AVS Station.

Brooklyn’s Myrtle-Wyckoff AVS station has undergone improvements as part of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Re-NEW-vation Program. During a 55-hour window last weekend where service was suspended, staff performed repairs and other maintenance. These enhancements included:

• Installation of LED fixtures in previously-darkened areas
• Fixed tripping hazards in the concrete
• Cleaned lighting, both service and emergency
• Repainted surface areas, including ceilings and columns
• Restored seating
• Replaced tiling in stairwells
• Refurbishment of employee areas

New York City Transit President Richard Davey commented on the improvements and that the “Re-New-Vation projects bring tangible and rapid improvements to stations in communities that can see the difference after a weekend of upgrades. . . Following the completeion of more than 30 re-new-vations, NYCT looks forward to continuing this intiative across the subway system”. 

Council Member Sandy Nurse agreed that the renovations in other stations across the area “will bring enhanced cleaning, repairs, and other much-needed upgrades”.
