TORONTO – Metrolinx reports that it is seeking feedback from the community along Sheppard Avenue regarding a potential rapid transit extension.

Metrolinx reports that it is seeking feedback from the community along Sheppard Avenue regarding a potential rapid transit extension. The Sheppard Extension project focuses on the area east and west of the existing TTC Line 4 subway. Metrolinx will hold three “community consultations,” and these consultations “give community members the opportunity to provide feedback on how people travel along Sheppard Avenue today and how they might benefit from new rapid transit options in the future.” Any input will be detailed in the Sheppard Extension Initial Business Case, or IBC.

The feedback received is the first step in developing the IBC, which would review “a potential project at a high level to assess how it addresses existing problems and opportunities.” In addition, the IBC selects a preferred design option.

Metrolinx will hold another meeting to solicit feedback on Thursday, November 16th at 6:00 p.m. at the Toronto Public Library, North York Central Branch.
