SAN BERNADINO COUNTY - The San Bernadino County Transportation (SBCTA) will seek feedback from the public on environmental documents for the proposed ONT Connector project.

According to the release, the connector project includes an underground tunnel between the Ontario International Airport (ONT) and the Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink Station. This tunnel would run under Milliken Avenue and East Airport Drive. In addition, the project would include three shuttle stations and an emergency access vent shaft. Also, the project includes the construction of two 10,000 square-foot stations at ONT.

There are studies that assess the environmental impact of the ONT Connector project, and a draft environmental impact report (DEIR) was prepared. As well, an environmental assessment, or EA, has also been prepared under the National Environmental policy Act. Between October 18th and December 2nd, these documents are available for review and feedback. SBCTA says the feedback must be by December 2nd to be considered during the environmental phase. The DEIR and EA can both be found at the link here.

On November 13, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., a virtual public hearing will be held via Zoom. To register, click at the link here.
