NEW YORK CITY – The MTA will start track replacement and other refurbishments along its F line starting next weekend.

In a press release, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced it will replace track in Queens along the F line. In between 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Center in Manhattan and 36 St in Queens, crews will work to remove track and install new contact rail as well as brackets and insulators, protection boards. Additionally, work will be done to replace cables, repair spalled concrete and cracks, seal active leaks, and install new signal equipment. This project hopes to therefore extend the usability of the existing infrastructure.

To accommodate maintenance work, the F Line will experience service changes that “will be in effect through the first quarter of 2024.” A full list of service changes that will occur starting with each weekend in August can be found here.
